Add or edit a goal by hand

Create a goal from scratch, set how it's measured, and choose how often you'll check in.

Smart Import is fastest for a whole caseload, but you can add any goal yourself.

Add a goal

  1. Open the student and choose to add a goal.
  2. Fill in the Goal section:
    • Goal Area: e.g. Reading, Math, Communication.
    • Goal Statement: “The student will…”
    • Short-Term Objectives / Benchmarks: optional, one per line.
  3. Fill in Tracking:
    • Target Score: what counts as success, e.g. 80%.
    • Over How Long: how long the student must hold that score.
    • How You’ll Measure: percentage, trials, frequency or duration.
    • How Often: how often you’ll check in. This drives your pending updates.
  4. Optionally turn on Provider Updates to let other providers submit data for the goal.
  5. Save.

Edit a goal

Goals change during the year. Open the goal from the Students page and choose Edit Goal. Your existing session data stays attached to the goal.

Writing a new goal? Our $9 Goal Audit scores up to 10 goals for measurability and suggests a rewrite for anything vague.
