The basics
What is Datability?
Datability Web is IEP progress monitoring software. Teachers and providers log goal data after each session; Datability charts it against the goal’s criteria, flags students who need support, and exports meeting-ready PDF reports.
Who is it for?
Special education teachers, related service providers (speech, OT, PT, counseling), paraprofessionals, and the district special education teams who oversee them.
Does it replace our IEP system?
No. Datability works alongside Frontline, IEP Direct or whatever system writes your IEPs. Your IEP system holds the plan; Datability holds the week-by-week evidence of progress toward it.
How do goals get into Datability?
Three ways: paste the goal text, upload a screenshot of the goals, or upload a spreadsheet (.xlsx, .xls or .csv). Datability sorts each goal into area, criteria, period and schedule, and you review it before it’s saved. You can also add goals by hand.
What kinds of data can I record?
Percentages, trials (correct out of total), frequency counts and duration, plus an assistance level, notes, and a photo or PDF of the student’s work.
Does it work on a tablet or phone?
Yes. Datability runs in any modern browser on a laptop, Chromebook, tablet or phone. There’s nothing to install.
Reports & AI
What reports can I make?
A PDF for a single goal, all of one student’s goals, or every student in a class, with charts and an optional date range and work-sample images. Reports are emailed to the address you choose.
How does the AI work? Do I have to use it?
AI is optional. On request, it drafts a plain-language meeting-prep briefing from a student’s goal text. Separately, the $9 Goal Audit scores goals for measurability and suggests rewrites. The meeting-prep request contains goal text only, never scores or notes, with the student’s name removed on our server first. Everything else in Datability works without AI.
Pricing & accounts
Is there a free trial?
Yes: 30 days with every feature and no credit card. It never turns into a charge on its own.
How much does it cost?
Individual teachers pay $99.99 a year, or $89.99 a year billed every two years. District plans are per teacher, from $124.99 down to $94.99 a year with volume. See pricing.
Do you accept purchase orders?
Yes, for district plans. Book a call or email support@databilityweb.com for a quote.
Can several staff work with the same student?
Yes. Students can be shared across teachers and providers, so the whole team sees the same progress picture.
How do district admins add teachers?
Admins share a join code so teachers can connect themselves, or bulk-import teachers from a CSV file. The admin portal shows goal data across the district and keeps an audit log.
Privacy
Is Datability FERPA compliant?
Datability is built to support FERPA-compliant handling of education records: privacy-safe name display, optional AI that never receives scores or names, no IEP system logins, and a published Data Processing Agreement. Read exactly how on our privacy & FERPA page.
Is student data sold or used to train AI?
No, and no.
